Electric prods, whips, bullhooks, and other cruel tools are examples of the things that are used to make circus animals do extremely unnatural and scary things. All in the name of entertainment.
Imagine your children witnessing tigers having seizures due to the stress of having to jump through rings of fire. Fire is extremely frightening to animals. They are smart and know the danger it imposes. Then add to that the abuse they know will come at the hands of their handler if they don’t perform.

Or imagine your children witnessing this…
“training”
One trainer to another when explaining how to use the sharp bullhooks on a room full of elephants…
“Hurt him. Don’t touch him. Make him scream.
If you’re scared to hurt him… don’t come in this room. When I say rip his f**kin’… you know how I am about touching him, right? So if I say rip his f**kin’ head off, rip his f**kin’ foot off, what does that mean? Cause it’s very important to do it.
When he’s squirming too much… both f**kin’ hands… BOOM!! Right under the chin.
Sit… and he better back up. Then when he f*cks around too much, don’t grab that leg… you f**kin’ sink that hook, and give everything you’ve got, and when it’s there you go, ee-ee-ee-ee!!
And he’s gonna start screaming… then you know you’ve got their attention a little f**kin’ bit! Right here in the barn. You can’t do it on the road.
She’s gonna do what I want. And that’s just the f**kin’ way it is.”
teach children compassion, not exploitation
Do you want to contribute to this cruel industry?
Please find non-exploitive ways to entertain your children. Consider taking them to visit an animal sanctuary instead. Here’s a list of sanctuaries in the United States…
