Wow! Just got home from a trip to 2 grocery stores. Planned on going to one, but ended up going to the second one because so many of the shelves were wiped clean. Same situation at the second store.
Needless to say, people are in a state of frenzy. No one is smiling, no one is making eye contact. I even tried to lightly joke around with the cashiers at both stores. They weren’t having it. No smiles given.
TOILET PAPER THO
Even after 2 stores, I was unsuccessful at procuring toilet paper. Surely, there’s some humor that can be found in that. Images of leaf collecting come to mind.
I have to admit, I don’t have television, so I’m not exposed to the amount of media most people are exposed to. Therefore, I’m a little late to the stock up party. I mean, I’ve seen the tp jokes on social media, but I guess humor can be hard to take seriously.
The only thing I could think of when I was at these stores was…
I really want to go for a hike.
Literally, not metaphorically, go for a hike.
I couldn’t wait to get out of the frenzy and connect with nature. Clear my mind. Think.
And perhaps catch a smile from a passing stranger.
And, of course… collect leaves.
