“We had to leave thousands of lives behind.
These babies had their tales cut off, their teeth ripped out and their testicles removed all fully conscious without painkillers.
Many of them have hernias the size of softballs, bloody scratches all over their small bodies and raw bleeding ears.
At first they’re always afraid. They have no reason to trust humans. Humans have shown them nothing but pain and caused them agony we can’t even image. But, it doesn’t take long for them to recognize us. Animals have acute senses that humans don’t have.
They see people for who they really are inside. They always realize that we are on their side, that we’re here to help- what little we can. And then everything changes and they’re no longer afraid. They become sweet and friendly and loving. They can see so clearly that they can trust us.
But, maybe they shouldn’t.
Because we had to leave thousands of them behind. Every baby I’ve left behind haunts me. Most of them are dead now. And I couldn’t save them.
I’ve betrayed them.
They trusted me and I have left almost all of them there. It’s so hard to find forever homes and we can only take the babies that we can place in permanent sanctuaries. So, so many of them get left behind in those hell holes. To those rescued it means everything, but to those left behind it means certain death.
The worst is yet to come. They’ll live every moment of their lives in this filthy monotonous hell until that last horrific day.
That last day when they’ll be slaughtered. They’ll scream in terror and in pain but no one will hear them. No one will care. They’ll be shown no mercy.
The world thinks that a topping on a sandwich for a 5 minute meal is more important than their entire lives.
I’ll never forget them. I know that’s not good enough. So I’ll fight for them and with them until the day I die. Or until every cage is empty.
Stop supporting this horror show. Please Go Vegan. I’m begging to stop supporting hell on earth for the most gentle, the most innocent, the least deserving. These days there’s vegan versions of anything you could want to eat – often better than the real thing.
Don’t transition. Just be an adult about it and go vegan now. I really am not impressed when you tell me you stopped eating beef or pork or chicken, or that you just eat fish. That’s so lame. How selfish can you be? They’re just babies and they are living and dying because of human greed.
But, you don’t have to support it. Just go vegan.
